Shaunie O’Neal is engaged and the Basketball Wives star and executive producer says things are “wonderful.”
Shaunie, 47, shares details about her relationship in the season 10 trailer for the VH1 reality series.
“I’m older now and I know what makes me happy. I dated for the past few years and nothing was super serious and it sucked,” Shaunie tells Jackie Christie who asks her about the “new boo” during a shopping trip.
“It was just something more there. It was deeper, the conversation was different. I guess they say, ‘you know when you know,’ and I know. So hopefully I’m right,” Shaunie adds. “I just think that it’s so easy to love him and be with him.”
In November 2021, she went public with her engagement to Pastor Keion Henderson, telling People magazine she said “yes” to his proposal after nearly two years of dating.
There are also reports that the two will appear together on a VH1 wedding special.
Shaunie was married to now-retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal from 2002 to 2011. The pair share four children: Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir and Me’arah. Shaunie is also mom to son Myles from a previous relationship.
The mom-of-five will offer more details about her engagement when Basketball Wives returns on Monday, May 16 at 8PM ET/PT on VH1.
This season on BBW, the ladies are ready to level up with a reunion of friends from past and present, all the while finding connections that both bring them closer together — and at times threaten to tear them further apart, according to VH1.
Season 10 features veteran cast members Jackie, Malaysia and Jennifer and MVPs from seasons past including Brandi, Angel, Duffey, Brooke and Brittish with appearances by Shaunie, Nia and Noria.
“I am extremely proud and blessed to have created and produced one of VH1’s most successful and long standing franchises,” Shaunie said in a statement. “Basketball Wives gave rise to my vision to amplify a dynamic culture and community and has exceeded my wildest dreams. I am grateful that we have an opportunity to continue serving our audience as we usher in the exciting tenth season of the show with some new, yet familiar faces.”
Basketball Wives is produced by Truly Original and Shed Media. From Truly Original the executive producers are Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Lorraine Haughton-Lawson, Julie “Bob” Lombardi, Lyndee Brown, Markus Burns, Vinnie Kaufmann and James Davis. Shaunie also serves as an executive producer.
